White Plains City School District administrators participated in an educational leadership workshop on Thursday during their annual retreat. The workshop started with a strategic planning session, followed by a recap and evaluation of the 2024-2025 school year and planning for 2025-2026 by discussing goals and objectives.

The White Plains High School Athletics Hall of Fame will welcome 10 outstanding individuals and one Tigers team when it conducts its 10th annual Induction Event on Monday evening, Nov. 10, in the school’s Media Center in the main Administration Building.

The ceremonies, which are free of charge, begin at 6:30 pm, preceded by a Social Reception commencing at 6 pm. All family, friends, alumni, interested persons and related groups are invited to attend.

Extensive renovations and constructions are underway in schools across the White Plains School District, including its five elementary schools – where students will experience a host of new features as they kick off the new academic year in greater comfort.

Mamaroneck Avenue School Principal Robert Janowitz has shared an enthusiastic update about the summer renovations underway that he said will make “MAS an even better place to learn and grow.”

George Washington Elementary School was teeming with workers Wednesday as they conducted extensive renovations – replacing ceiling tiles in classrooms, installing air conditioning in the gym and upgrading the cafeteria serving area.
