Director's Message
Dear Community:
I am so pleased to be the new director of Rochambeau Alternative High School. I come to this beautiful school building after 24 years as an educator, including 7 years as a House Administrator at White Plains High School, which is why so many of us know each other already.
As relationships are the foundation of a successful educational experience, I am happy to have met with many new and familiar faces prior to the start of the school year. As discussed during these meetings, my mantra for Rochambeau is: Growing into the very best version of ourselves!
The opportunity to grow is never ending, as even those whom we consider to be the best at what they do, keep on striving to improve their craft. (Insert your favorite artist, athlete, teacher, and/or innovator’s name here).
Because none of us is as smart of all of us— my vision for us to achieve this growth is via the community: Learning with the community, serving with the community, and exploring with the community. “The community” includes those of us inside of the school building as well as those beyond its walls; with the learning, serving, and exploring occurring both in and outside of the school building as well. This includes, but is not limited to; high quality instruction, social/emotional learning, professional development, field trips, guest speakers, community service opportunities, service learning, college tours, job shadowing, etc. The list of what we can do— similar to how far we can go— is endless!
If you are interested in learning, serving and exploring with us, please do not hesitate to reach out. I may be contacted at 914-422-2423 or KhaliMurrell@wpcsd.k12.ny.us. I look forward to growing together.
In partnership,
Khali Murrell
