Director's Message

Dear School Community,

At Rochambeau Alternative High School, I am grateful for the opportunity to grow alongside our students, staff, families, and community partners.

When I became director in 2025, I introduced a mantra for Rochambeau: Growing into the very best version of ourselves! That message continues to guide our work because growth is never finished. No matter how accomplished we become, there is always something new to learn, another way to improve, and another opportunity to become better than we were before.

At Rochambeau, that growth is also reflected in the values we strive to demonstrate each day through Rochambeau ROCKS: Respectful, Outstanding, Community minded, Kind, and Safe. These values help define not only how we treat one another, but also the kind of school community we are continually working to build.

We believe that growth happens through community. After all, none of us is as smart as all of us. Our vision is to create opportunities for students to learn with the community, serve with the community, and explore with the community.

Our community includes those within our school building as well as the people, organizations, colleges, businesses, and resources beyond our walls. Through high-quality instruction, social-emotional learning, field trips, guest speakers, community service, college and career exploration, job shadowing, and other meaningful experiences, we want our students to recognize that learning can happen anywhere.

Each day, we work to strengthen relationships, create meaningful opportunities for our students, and build a school community in which everyone has the opportunity to grow. Just as we encourage our students to become the very best versions of themselves, we are committed to continually growing into the very best version of Rochambeau.
